Some magic tricks are very easy to learn and perform in social gatherings like parties. Such tricks require only common items such as matchboxes, bowls, coins and the like. Most tricks require some kind of pre-arrangement, but some can be done without any preparation.

One such easy trick is the "Ice Baby" trick. You pour some water into a bowl, say some magic words and turn it upside down and lo and behold, ice cubes fall from the bowl. This trick can be performed by placing a sponge and ice cubes in the bowl beforehand so that the sponge absorbs the water that is poured into the bowl and the ice cubes fall out.

The jumping rubber band trick is a popular trick that needs no previous arrangements. A rubber band is wrapped around your little finger and ring finger. When you stretch the rubber band, insert your little, ring, middle and first finger into it and open your fingers again, the rubber band mysteriously jumps to the first and middle fingers.

Coin vanishing tricks are among the most popular tricks. A variety of coin vanishing tricks are prevalent the world over. A coin is placed on the table and when you pick it up and say the magic words and hey presto, it disappears! What you should keep in mind while performing this trick is that when you cover the coin with your hand and slide it to edge of the table to pick it up, you should push it onto your lap and then pretend that the coin is still in your hand. After that you say the magic words and open your hand, and the coin has disappeared from your hand.

Another interesting coin trick requires a glass, a sheet of colored paper, a handkerchief and a coin. The audience is shown the coin and an upturned glass kept on a sheet of colored sheet of paper. You put a handkerchief over the glass and move it over. When the handkerchief is removed the coin has disappeared. This trick involves a certain amount of pre-planning. A circle the size of the rim and of the same color of the sheet is taped to the glass so that it blends with the colored paper. Thus when the glass is moved over, the circle hides the coin from view and the coin appears to have disappeared.

Kids' magic tricks are very easy to perform and do not require much practice or preparation. Many magic tricks that can be performed by kids are sold in magic-kits. The most popular ones are the Eggcup trick, the Coin Vanishing trick, the Broken Pencil trick etc. These tricks require special easy-to-use apparatus that is provided in the kits.

Some tricks like the Empty Matchbox trick can be performed at a moment's notice provided you get two matchboxes, one of which is empty, and a rubber band. You shake a matchbox and it rattles. Ask your friends to guess how many matchsticks are in it. When you open it, it is empty! The trick is to strap the other matchbox to your arm in such a way that it is not seen, but is heard if you shake that arm. So when you shake the empty matchbox with that arm, your friend hears the full matchbox.

Another easy to perform trick is the "Wine into Water" trick. This trick requires water, red food coloring and bleaching powder. Water is poured into a glass and red food coloring is added to make the water look like wine. In another glass, a small amount of bleaching powder- your magic powder is added. As you pour the red liquid into the other glass, it becomes clear water! Adult supervision is required for this trick as bleaching powder is poisonous.

When kits are not accessible, easy kids magic tricks can be performed using common everyday items too. For example, the Rubber Pencil trick requires only a pencil which can be made to look as if is has turned into a Rubber pencil. For this the pencil should be held loosely at the tip. Move your hand up and down allowing it to wobble. This creates the illusion that your pencil has turned into rubber.

The problem is that most people who want to learn magic tricks could not get them directly from a magician. Probably, they were just afraid you could outwit them, or maybe they do not simply want anybody to learn the tricks.

However, the truth is that everybody can learn magic tricks. Obtaining the skills in order to perform magic tricks is not limited. It is open for everybody who is willing to learn and master the craft.

How to Make the Box

The greatest secret in box tricks is based on the composition of the box. Here is how to make the magic box:

1. Choose a box that has plenty of room for the person who will get in. Be sure that he will still be able to move a little once he needs to get out of the box at once.

2. Cut the boxís base. Be sure you to leave an edge on the three sides.

3. Slit the ìfalse bottomî from an additional portion of the cardboard fixing it in the interior, and fastening it with the center of a sturdy tape.

4. Fasten them on the grip.

5. Slash or fasten jointly a ìone-pieceî cardboard cover. Try to color it with a dark hue to add more fuss.

The Box Trick

With the demands of the audience, the effectiveness of the box trick as one type of the stage magic is based on stage presence, proper timing, comedy value, and other skills that would generate amusement without having to appear that the performer is making a trick out of the audience.

The most important thing, when somebody wants to learn this kind of magic trick is that he should be able to divert the audience attention from one area to another. It is through this moment that the trick is being executed without the audience realizing it.

Imagine being able to impress your friends or even people you don't know with an amazing coin magic trick. Do a few coin magic tricks right and you'll be the center of attention with people pleading with you to tell them how it's done.

The thing about coin tricks is that the majority of people can only do the simple tricks that most already know, or can easily work them out. However, anyone can learn the advanced tricks that truly amaze. It just takes practice and of course the instructions for some of the best coin magic tricks around. All of the famous magicians had to start somewhere; David Copperfield, David Blaine, Derren Brown, the list goes on, and there's no reason why can't learn just a few of the tricks that they use.

Many card tricks and coin tricks make use of sleight of hand and this is where the majority of your practice will be needed. Learning the tricks is one thing, but having good sleight of hand is another. Furthermore, you should practice your timing during the tricks and the wording and chat that you do to grab your audiences’ attention whilst you carry out the trick. This will all become second nature after a while of practicing.

Although I would say I'm pretty good at coin magic tricks and card tricks now, when I first started I could hardly shuffle a deck of cards never mind impress people with tricks and use sleight of hand. In fact the very first coin trick I learnt was so simple that anyone could do this right now. Here it goes:

- Pick up two coins and place one in each hand. A coin in the center of one of your hands, and the other coin also in the palm (on the other hand) but nearer to the thumb. - As you turn your hands over and hit down on the table the coin that was nearer the thumb should flick under the other hand. Both coins are now both under the same hand (hopefully!). - Ask your audience where the coins are. They will normally say that a coin is under each hand, with which you left both hands from the table to reveal both coins had been under the same hand.

Simple, don't you think!

There are plenty more coin magic tricks that are far more impressive, and learning them is really exciting. The same goes for card tricks.
